Casinos

Long awaited for, tonight I will be leaving Singapore for Malaysia Genting Highlands. I will return on only Sunday evening. Its only a 1 night stay up at Gentings to enjoy the cool air and to getaway from boring Singapore. Might pay ZOUK KL a visit. I think the Casino is not a place for me. Little bets now and then is fine with me but placing huge bets in a casino is definitely not my game, moreover, I do not have that much cash to be wasted in this kind of senseless place. I am just interested in the theme park. Those thrill rides are awaiting me and I wonder which ride would scare the shit outta me.
Sometimes i just wonder why do people visit a casino and give the casino all their hard earned money when they know that the probability of winning is that low. A casino is set up, out rightly to win all your money so that they would earn and profit. If you are filthy rich and have no where to spend your god damn money, why don't you donate it to charity or if you don't mind, give it to me, I spend the money wisely on your behalf. But if you are fucking poor, can't even make ends meet, have a few mouths to feed at home, I do not see any god damn fucking reason why you would visit a casino. Neither ways, I do not condone the act of visiting a casino, it just doesn't make any sense. One might say its for pure entertainment, I think there are many other forms of entertainment, golf for example, is an expensive form of entertainment, but it is definitely much healthier than immersing thyself in a casino. WHAT A BRAIN?!
Whats worse? Singapore is going to open not 1 but 2 Casinos!! Can u believe it? All but for economic benefits. Create Jobs opportunities, some 10000 over jobs would be created, at the expense of maybe losing just say, 50 families homogeneity, social instability - loan sharks lurking around the casinos preying for their potential victims, mafias in Singapore? Haven't we seen enough of social problems in countries infamous for their casinos namely Macau, LazVegas etc? Aren't we just adding ourself to the list? All these and more in the name of economic benefits? In the name of creating jobs opportunities? In the name of promoting tourism? Will collecting a mandatory cover charge of $100 or more be effective? If one is to visit a Casino and try his luck, what is 100buckaronies to him in the first place.Negligible period. He would just take it take he had just lost 100bucks and going in with the mentality that he will win back that 100bucks! Isn't that worse? Hasn't that complicates matter? All right, I might be cynical here, I might sound kinda extreme here, maybe there are really benefits where our leadership has foresaw and I had not. That's why I am still blogging here, that's why i am not the one calling the shot, Mr Lee? Maybe that's why Singapore is one of the richest country on this planet called EARTH. Maybe 1 fine day, I will be issuing white papers in the Parliament instead of sitting here in the comfort of my room, typing to no one in particular, complaining about nothingness, emptiness, into blank space.
I shall be less cynical, maybe again, maybe Mr Lee has made the right choice. And of course, we all hope that he did.
