Holidays!!

Phewz..My Exams are finally over after a long week with almost all my papers back to back. No time for a breather in between but I'm glad its over fast and sweet. Grades wise..ermm..I will be glad if there are no Cs on my transcript. I really think I did quite badly for some of the papers.

I'll be going to a kelong in Malaysia tmr with my gang of friends. Coming back on Mon. Its time to enjoy! Sea breeze..Kelong food...and what not!

I think I'm starting work soon next week. Supposed to start work yesterday, but nahx..Im gotta enjoy 1st man. Back to selling television.

Congraz to dear, she cleared her interview and got her sponsorship by National Heart Centre. That means her tuition fees are fully paid for, will be drawing a monthly allowance till she graduate and will be working with NHC for 3 years after graduation.

Well, she will graduate without any debt with a job. I will graduate with an assload of debts and jobless. Ironical.

Good Luck to all those still amidst exams! JiaYou!!! WeiWen is signing off to enjoy life now! Bye!

Desire, Hope and Dreams

"Desire is the starting point of all achievement, not a hope, not a wish, but a keen pulsating desire which transcends everything." Napoleon Hill.

"Hope is the dream of a waking man." Aristotle.

"I have a dream today." Martin Luther King, Jr.

So is it desire, hope or dreams that keeps a person going amidst devastations? A hope triggers a desire, with that desire, you dare to dream. I would stick to the integrative approach that all 3 are pertinent.

B- for my Abnormal Psyc Term paper.
B for my Biological Psyc Term paper.
What could be worse?

Semester Exams starting in 2 days, ending in a week. My gut feeling is telling me that I'm screwed for this exams. Gone are everything.

Sidetrack: Recently I've infringed Joel's liberty by refuting excessively about his post on his blog, and I guess he is pretty much pissed about it. I hereby apologise for my tactlessness and insensitivity. I'm sorry.

I HAD a dream that one day I will do well academically. I HAD. Period.

Busy

Had been busy for the past 2 weeks. Moments before just completed my last assignment for this semester..Finally..2 weeks before exams. I can finally get down to mug from tomorrow onward. Not expecting very good grades this semester, had been slack throughout the semester, did not really do well for term tests and term papers. I will give it my best shot nevertheless.

No..Not intending to publish a long entry, no politics, no economics, no nothing. Too tired to labor on these heavy topics. Probably after the exams. But on a sidenote, I guess the nomination day is approaching, probably on the 24th this month because the PM is returning to SG on the 22nd. So the election day will be around 10days later, on the 2nd to 4th May, one of these days. Right after we receive the progress package, wonderfully planned out.

I just finished reading this book entitled "Coercion", by Douglas Rushkoff. Its about marketing and sales, a good read, for marketing and sales fanatics. Do you know shopping malls are designed to make you lose your way? And you got to walk past 20 more stores before finding the exit? Turns are designed at 30degrees instead of 90 or 45, to make you lose your sense of direction everytime you make a turn. Marketing strategies incoporated with psychology. Interesting..

Speaking of Marketing, spoke with my Sec Sch Principal recently, they are doing some marketing to increase enrolment for Sec1s next year. Knowing that I graduated from there, and is currently in NUS and still serving the school in NPCC, made him rather amazed, and thus he made me took a few photographs and made me do an interview with the HODs for their marketing stint. He said of putting up banners with my face on. Hopefully he doesnt, there are better marketing plans than this.

I've a Theatre's practical exams coming up during reading week. For those who had read or seen the award winning play "Pan-Island Expressway" by Chong Tze Chien, a local playwright whom graduated from NUS, majored in Theatres Studies, I'm playing the character James, the male lead in the play, tedious with tonnes of lines to remember, but fun. Acting is always fun. 25% of module assessment depends on this performance, hopefully I don't screw it up. I like this play because it revolves around politics and a mulitple realism. Confusing yet enticing. Highly recommended. Read up on the 1987 Marxist Conspiracy where ISD arrested 22 individuals from the upper stratus of the society, mainly Catholics and Workers party opposition leaders, to understand the central idea of the play better.

Mill said Liberty should not be infringed other than to prevent harm to others. Obviously, this is not true, at least in Singapore's context. Liberty is infringed in more ways than you can ever think of. Philosophy is still killing me, perhaps like what Descartes said, our senses are deceiving us all the time, we do not really know if we really existed.

Laters..after my exams, till then, take care one and all. I will survive.
