Drunk Drunk..

Saturday night went to ICE COLD BEER with Mr Wee and Mr Fax, chill out abit there, drank a pine of HOEGARDEN. Its good, very smooth beer, one of my favourite beer.

After that dear and me went to a PUB in boat quay to meet up with Angeline and Shawn(angeline's bf), thats when my nightmare begins. Shawn were with his 2 friends. They drink "OH" like they are damn thristy. We finished a bottle of CHIVALS there. We moved to a club in Marina South called SHANGHAI. Its the 1st club I went to that plays Canto/Mandarin POP Songs with a live band. Music is not bad, but the crowd are mostly old people, can see lots of old man dancing around.lolx. Drank another bottle of Whiskey there. Think they are really damn thristy, while Im not that thristy, it seems that I am very thristy also. lolx.

Never had I drank at such level of intensity, not even when I go drinking with my camp buddies during NS days. The worst we ever did was 3 bottle of MARTELL and 24 jugs of Beer in a night, but there were like close to 10 of us. Last night we finished 2 bottles with only like 6 of us, its insane! Thereafter, I'm already halfdead, they still drove to another place to drink, and seriously, I don't know where and what place is it. I only know we finished another half a bottle there and we hopped to another place, whereby by that time, I was too drunk to comprehend anything. only know they ordered Jugs of Beer and I only drank abit. Lolx. Its Crazy! Its madness! I think my Liver is bursting! By the time I reached home its like near 5am and needless to say, I dropped dead sleeping.

Supposed to meet Shawn(my bud of 18 yrs, not the same shawn as above.hahax) at 12pm to go to Juewei's place, but I couldnt wake up. Wake up at 2+, with a sickening hangover, seldom do I have hangovers, no matter how much I drank, I think yesterday was an overdose of OH! Travelled the long long journey to Juewei's place. Almost vomitted on the train. lolx..

Played mahjong at his place, lost $3.60. hahax..I'm never good at mahjong.

Afterwhich, Juewei gotta book in, so we adjourned to Compass point, met up with another friend of ours Kiahong, and we chill at starbucks still 10+. Came home, studied for my Jap Quiz, finish up my essay, and now here I am blogging. Going to sleep soon. Tired.

Shall not drink OH for some time. Let my Liver recuperate. Now the thought of Whisky makes me sick. lolx...

Job job..

Angeline finally found a job. Lolx..She has been in a state of depression ever since graduation. Fuzzing over what job to get and stuff. lolx...

Now its good that you get yourself landed in a job. No doubt its a temporary job, you are still getting paid. Look on the brighter side, no matter what kinda job is it, it is still experience gained that is invaluable.

It is definitely much better than loafing around at home, not wanting to get a job, depleting the economy of its resources without any contributions at all. As quoted by my marcoecons Prof, "these are the "fortunate ones" out of the labor participating force in the society that need not work or find work. They just hang around the coffeeshop all day and drink Tiger beer and all they do is to criticize the government for not helping them enough." Lolx..Well...Some of these peepz might really be the fortunate ones, but more often than not, they are not as fortunate as they might seem. Most have gapping mouths waiting for them to feed back at home and they refused to get jobs. One can feel the scarasm in those words.

These peepz keep giving themselves excuses for not getting a job, i.e.: low pay, long hrs, very far, "over qualified" to do such degrading jobs etc etc and the list goes on. Isn't low pay better than no pay? "Over qualified" my ass! When I was selling TVs, i was getting $25/day for standing 8hrs on the sales floor if I had sold nothing and indeed my 1st month I really only sold about 5 sets, that would be around $3.20/hr, I think Macdonalds pay better. Should I've thought, as an Alevels holder, getting $3.20 is horrendous, i wouldnt have continued the next half a month there earning 1.5k for half a month of work and not forgetting the invaluable experience i gained on the sales floor. Excuses always deny improvements.

Truthfully, undeniably, I really despise these people, luckily Singapore does not have fundings for these kinda of scumbags like those in Aust and some European countries. Its really a waste of resources to keep these people alive. Even the foreign labourers are working hard.

Well..Angeline, Jiayou wor..All the best to you in your new endeavor. =)

Happy Birthday and all HAIL to FRIENDSHIPS!

Happy Birthday to Mr Fax and Mr Wee!! Today is Mr Wee's 25th birthday. Yesterday was Mr Fax 22nd birthday. These 2 buggers are my buddies since very long ago, secondary school days!
Going out with them to ICE-COLD BEER for a few drinks later.

And also..Happy birthday to Juewei!! His 22nd birthday on the 19th! Juewei is another of my buddy since kindergarden! We've known each other for 18years..a long long long time...Speaking of him, I'm going to his house tmr, he just moved homey, so invited us to his place. Shawn, Romano Juewei and me are friends since kindergarden..such long friendships..Currently,Shawn, Romano and me are staying in the Jurong area, only Juewei shifted to Sengkang. Damn far.

It all started with all 4 of us staying in AMK, studied in the same kindergarden, subsequently, Romano, Juewei and me went to the same primary school, Shawn went to another, but we are still in contact. During Pri 2 or 3, Romano moved to boon lay. Then at sec 3, i moved to Jurong west, followed by shawn who moved to Yishun. Juewei still stayed in AMK.lolx..through all these years we kept in frequent contact with each other though we all went to different secondary schools. Just recently, shawn moved in to Jurong west, just blks away from me. So we are like back to where we begin again. Lolx. This is really a strong and long lasting friendship we bulit that is tested against time and distance. How many of us really have close friends at this age that had known each other for close to 2 decades? Not many I guess. Well...Buddies always!

Speaking of friendship, there is this email I received many years back(apr 12 2001) which till now i still keep it. I find it very meaningful and it depicts reality so coldly and truely. This email was sent by Huiyue. Huiyue is one of the BEST friend I had in my lower sec days. Those were days when Huiyue, Xiaohan, Chunyan, TianGui and me always hangs around. I still remember, Huiyue was the 1st friend I made when we were in Sec 1, when we were all dumb and stupid. hahax.. We all grew apart after I moved house in sec 3 and now still in contact but we all lead our own lives now.

Alright, the email goes:

Are you a Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime?
>
> People come into your life for a reason, a season,
> or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is,
> you will know what to do for each person.
>
> When someone is in your life for a REASON...
>
> It is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
> They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
> to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you
> physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
>
> They may seem like a godsend, and they are!
> They are there for the reason you need them to be.
>
> Then, without any wrong doing on your part, or at
> an inconvenient time, this person will say or do
> something to bring the relationship to an end.
>
> Sometimes they die.
> Sometimes they walk away.
> Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
>
> What we must realize is that our need has been met,
> our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer
> you sent up has been answered. And now it is time
> to move on.
>
> When people come into your life for a SEASON...
>
> It is because your turn has come to share, grow,
> or learn. They bring you an experience of peace,
> or make you laugh.
>
> They may teach you something you have never done.
> They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
> Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
>
> LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons;
> things you must build upon in order to have a solid
> emotional foundation...
>
> Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
> and put what you have learned to use in all other
> relationships and areas of your life.
>
> It is said that love is blind but friendship
> is clairvoyant.
>
> Thank you for being a part of my life.
> Stop here and just SMILE.

I believe that there is some truth in this mail. But whether to make a friendship a reason, a season or a lifetime is really up to an individual. It really depends on the amount of effort one put into the relationship. It works the same for LOVE too and in fact, the person you love most is the BEST friend in your life. If you do not consider your gf or bf or spouse to be your best friend then who is?

Malaysia, truly asia~~

Yesterday after lessons, met up with dear, angeline and shawn for dinner. Went to Rocher Centre to eat Bah Kuh Teh (Pork Ribs Soup). After that, we went to Bugis Junction to shop, there is a "SUPER SALE" there, thats what they call it, I did not cook it up.

After shopping, we went into JB. Shawn wanted to go in to attain some Car's neccessaties. We had PIPA duck for supper in JB. That "hungry ghost chicken" had 2 bowls of noodles! Always say I eat alot, WOW, she can eat alot TOO!! lolx!..

Reached home at 12+am, so shagged. Today I have a 8am class.

Today there is no english class, so after SS tutorial, came back home and fell into slumberland, it is a third dimensional world, a travel through time and space, reaching a point of no return but when you return from slumberland, you would feel so revatalised. Some would call it LALA land. You can only enter this 2 lands by means of sleeping. So yes, I was sleeping the entire afternoon.

Woke up at 7pm, wanted to do my readings, but was too lazy. So here I am, blogging. Think i better get back to my readings soon..

Later..

Interesting...

I recognize a trend these days, the act of indirect communications by individuals reasserting their views of certain subject matter so to speak, is very prevalent in this world of blogging.

The notion of becoming more inexpressively vocal individuals and also the desire to avoid direct confrontation has led to this "war of words". This "war" in fact has its own benefits and of course also its own disadvantages.

One could argue that in the light of avoiding direct "face to face" confrontation, we would greatly reduce the chances of getting physical. In the same light, we would feel less of a need of being evasive to the problem but the choice of words used are by and large more direct and straight to the point. Unless, of course a general exception to the rule is me, whom writes with underlying meanings which one has to decipher from within.

One could also argue that, a blog, is a channel of expression for us, in this oppressed world. I would term it as a "publicized diary". It is in such channel of expression, other and on top of the hardcopy diary which one would record his/her deepest and darkest secrets of all time, that shows much truth about a person's character.

No doubt many would find to the contrary to my arguments above, most people would regard what they read off a blog as non-substantial. it is a irreliable source of information and nothing is even near an inch to facts and truth.

It is commonly argued that in a "war of words", it is not this channel that is contested against but rather the words used. It is often the choice of words one uses, that results in a misinterpretation of it that leads to deeper misunderstandings.

And also, do problems actually get resolved through the use of indirect communication? Apparently, to me it is a way of avoiding the subject matter directly. There could be many reasons for this avoidance.

1stly, a head-on collision will result in 2 effects, one, an elastic collision, whereby all energies will be transferred to each other and both move off in the opposite direction. This analogy occurs when both parties fail to come to a mutual understanding and thus in avoidance to this kind of effect, the cause would be to prevent a head-on collision. Two, an inelastic collision, whereby energies transferred are somehow lost or changed amidst it and both parties end up going in an unknown direction after collision. The final direction after collision, largely depends on the impact of it and the forces implicated by both sides. That means to say that, in an inelastic collision, problems might not be resolved but actually amplified to a different magnitude.

2ndly, one might had tried the former method of communication to no avail and thus resort to this indirect means, it is then through the latter means, that they found out that they can be better expressed in words and therefore adhere by this methodology.

I strongly believe that NO ONE is in a position to judge whether this method is correct or wrong. It is just a different avenue for expression to different people thats all. An analogy would be that, I tell you that the sales line is very profitable and experience enhancing and everyone should have a hand at it, but it is not in your nature to be in the sales line, so when you turn down my idea of doing sales, does that mean you are WRONG? Definitely not.

On a personal basis, I would try to the best of my ability to reduce the chances of engaging in a "war of words", but more often than not, I would end up in the indirect approach.

One could argue that I'm taking the easy way out, I would not deny thee but sometimes in life, taking the easy way out, might just be the best way out, Does everything in life has to be so explicit? If yes, then in my personal opinion, you are leading quite a sorrowful life, its time to put certain things down and move on. If not, then take it easy, life goes on anyway.

Econs econs~

I got back my economic test result today. I got 31/40. Seems great, sounds great, but in fact its mediocre only. Mean 30.7, standard deviation 4. My score falls into the bulk of the 652 people who took the test. I was expecting higher but nvm. My only consolation is I'm slightly above average. Lolx!

The story of the Weaver-bird and the Monkey.

This story is quoted from the book "The voyage of Abdullah". Abdullah is a scholar/ teacher who moved from Malacca to Singapore during the Colony period. He was secretary to Sir Stamford Raffles when Singapore was founded in 1819. This book writes about his tourage and comments about the malay feudalistic system in the Malaya before Malaya was colonized.

It goes:

Once upon a time there was a terrible storm and heavy rain. An all the monkeys in the jungle ran to find shelter.

Now one monkey took shelter under the nest of a weaver-bird (the nest of the weaver-birds are made up of bamboo leaves knitted firmly together and is water-proof all year long) and stood there shivering in cold.

The weaver-bird, seeing the monkey, hailed him.

"Hi, monkey!" he said. "Did not God make you much bigger and stronger than I am? Why can't you make a place to live in as I have done? Then you can shelter in it fro the rain. The trouble you are in is just the result of your own laziness".

When the monkey heard the words of the weaver-bird, he became angry.

"You talk in this stuck up way", he said, "because of this fine nest of yours. What has my way of life got to do with you?" So saying, the monkey tore down the nest, rent it to pieces and threw it to the ground.

Thats the end of the story. Was not the advice of the weaver-bird good? But it wasted on the senseless monkey and it did the bird a mischief.

The moral of the story is, "Its takes a jeweller to recognise jewels"; for only the wise can appreciate its moral properly, good advices are wasted on worthless people.

In life, we often turn a deaf ear to peoples' word of advice, especially close people around us, and more often than not, we regret what we have done, no doubt the story says that good advice are wasted on worthless people, I believe however a person is lacking of worthiness, he should not be deny of good advice, if he turns a deaf ear to it, the only consolation one can get is that, one has done his part in trying to help another being.

Well..I was ploughing through this book of thick readings and read the story above and decide to pen it down.

Autumn's poetry works

Cooked up with some poems. Pardon the rough and unrefined words usage. I'm just an amateur. All I could do now is only to try and make it rhythm. Lolx!

Enjoy!

Later!

Melancholic grace

Grief befalls unto, not one would expect,

Sadness fills to the brim, up to one to detect,

In the face of troubles, when one fails to react,

All but sorrows left, for those who came into contact.
~Autumn~

Truth sees not what Lies deceived,

But Lies see what Truth deceived not,

So why did lies choose to deceive what the truth sees not?

I hope I have the answer to what I see not.
~Autumn~

Autumn, a season of the falling leaves,

Through the gentle breeze, in the wait for whom persists,

Persist through the slashings of the cold hard snow,

The arrival of Spring, is what one would know.
~Autumn~

A story

*Disclaimer: The story narrated below and characters mentioned are purely ficticious, similarities are purely conincidental.

The cast: T, M and S (Names had been changed to protect the identity of personnels involved. Any controversies, refer to *Disclaimer.)
Background infomation: Occurred in Sep 2005, Singapore.
Genre: Tragedy.

And the story goes:

T, M and S are/were(the author is unsure of the status at the time of publishing) friends. T and M got into some problems recently, so S in an attempt to salvage and render remedy to the situation, was implicated into this affairs of the heart. As their problems grew from nothing to everything, S got drawn deeper into the hailstorm. Whats making things worse is information conversed from T to S to that of those conversed from M to S holds entirely different functions and meanings. M and S concluded that T is seeing the matter in a different light and thus from then on, whatever T tells S, S would only deem true after confirming with M. S decided against informing T that he was seeing things in a different light for the fear of devastating him.

There was once T told S that problems between T and M are resolved, S insisted that M updated S personally but M fails to do it. That resulted in many misunstandings between T,M and S. No doubt M understands why S is feeling such, because they came to an agreement that T is seeing matters in a different light, M had failed to explain this to T, till today. S is still upset why this is happening.

Many other problems arised thereafter, now T and S are not on talking terms with each other due to some problems and also that T made a promise, a promise that he shalt not inflict more pain unto S for the time being. As for M, their realtionship had suffered tremendously through all these unevents mishap. M now feels that S is different from before substituting M with a new found friend. S feels that she has been hurt enough in this matter and had passively withdrew from this relationship. S feels not the need to explain and clarify anymore, she had tried unpteemed times to no avail. Will this friendship substain?

Alright, thats the end of my overly simplify narration. To all readers of this blog, you might think that whatever thats narrated are my subjective, lopesided point of view, to this, I would beg to differ. I had written the above based on what I heard and read about the subjective views on the matter per se, and try to objectify it. You must be thinking if I'm feigning ignorance most of the time, how could I've made such objective assertions?

Well...If you are a bloggers' blog reader like me, you would know that by clicking on "next blog", you would be reading people's entries, and if you were to click frequent enough, it won't be suprising to chance upon blog with familiar authors, with entries description so distinct that the feeling of relation is so close, and you wouldnt be mistaken because the author had posted up his very own photographs.

Sometimes, only when you stumble upon somethings not meant for your eyes, only then would you understand the truth and when you learnt that the truth is not within you, no doubt it will sadden you, but you also learn to grow from it. The 2 emails posted on the 9th Oct 2005, told me the truth together with a few other entries.

I am not pissed as I was the other day, I'm feeling normal. People just say their disappointed with each other, saying such when they themselves know its not like that, just for some reasons they refused to admit. I think what true disappointment really is, its when dear cried just now, after reading all those not meant for her eyes. Those tears of disappointment in reflections to the truth. How true are the truth, only god will know, I won't.

I shall not judge, god shall. Christians believe that God would forgive our sins, Buddishists believe in Kharma, an effect to our cause, Taoists believe in hell and punishments after death. I am a free thinker, so what do I believe in? Well..i believe in what I see with my own eyes.

PS: The writer will not comment on anything with regards to the above, nor would he be making any justifications or clarifications so to speak, so don't bother asking. As far as your beliefs tell you that this story is true, the writer would still refers you to *Disclaimer.

Peace Out~~

An act of hastiness, a replica of irrational behavior, an enactment of a heightened state of arousal in the sympathetic nervous system, a trait of the lack of coherent logical thoughts and a natural effect in response to a unintended cause, resulting in many unintended consequences.

Problems are resolved when the parasympathetic nervous system kicks in and starting working, the brain clears and sees what the heart sees not initially. Follow what the brain signals you to do as it is by far of more logic than do what the heart perceives. Problems are remedized near-sightly which is better than none indeed, friendships are salvaged, capacity of logical reasoning restored, tommorrow will be a better day.

I will be more than willing to take back whatever words that came from my previous entry that had hurt or caused disstress to all concerned(esp tecksiong), and hereby offer my sincere apologies. I'm sorry. The last entry would be removed as my blog shall not be tainted with such trival matters. One should not let trival affairs of the heart, deter the will to scale greater heights.

Many thanks to those who showered concern over me during this period of logical inactivity. Forgive my inablitiy to offer replies.

To dear: Feel not that you are implicating these onto me, it is the failure of me not being able to objectify my stand as it should be to begin with. The thought of you being shortchanged for pissed me off but now that its such, quit thinking about everything and anything with respect to all these. Its time to move on and be happier. Love ya lots! Happy 38th month!

Well, quoting Zheng BanQiao, "It's hard to be smart, It's hard to be 'not smart', Transforming from smart to 'not smart' is harder still, Yield a little, Back down a step, Think and be careful, All for rewards in the future".

Just another day!

Its just another day! Went to school. Attended class. Came home. Nothing special.

Psychology lecture was interesting today. Its on gender and disorders. Mainly discussing about biological makeup of men and women causing differences in gender roles. Testosterone is the hormone associated with these differences. It is a male hormone basically. Some interesting statistic, Women are twice more likely to slip into depression as compared to men. While the ratio of Autism is 6:1; men:women. So men are more likely to be autistic and women are more likely to be depressed.

This 2 diagrams are taken out from my psychology lecture notes. Well of course they are mend as a joke and are not to be taken to be a graphical representation of our brains. Lolx!

Well...I shall stop here. Angeline says my entry are too long for her to comprehend.lolx. So here is a short one for you! Well, for the benefit of those who do not know Angeline, she is a 22yr old year girl taking her PSLE this year, thats why she can't comprehend much of english. Pardon her. Hahax!! DONT KILL ME!!!!!!!!!!

Later!

PS: Angeline, leave me a tag if you still feel its too long for you k! lolx!

Love or Money?

I got my psychology test results this morning. Went to check it up on the notice board outside my lecturer's office this morning. I got 88/100!!! Better than I had expected it to be. Hohoho! I'm so glad! Now I'm thinking what are those questions I did wrongly for. Cuz during the test, I marked out 12 Qns that I totally had no idea what the answer was and for that 12 Qn, I just "chicai" choose since its MCQ and there is no negative marking. Lolx. So I'm thinking if the 12 Qn are those that I marked out. Maybe I'm such that suay! lolx..

Well..now I beginning to worry about my economic paper. I felt it was quite easy to do generally with the exception of 1 or 2 of course but the overall comment I got when i went around asking my friends, was it was difficult. Damnx! All these people had Alevels econs background and some even scored an A for alevels econs, and these people felt that the test was difficult. Hmm..I guess I had applied all the wrong concepts to whom I thought was correct. The worse thing was, it was a 2hr paper and I actually finished it and left after an hour. Gosh! Now coming to think of it, thats the end of me! After the paper, i was expecting a score of 35/40, now I just hope that I can pass. Damn it!

I did not get back my Japanese results today. So we are all kept in suspense for another 2 weeks. Results will only be out the week after next. Wonder why they take so long to mark. For this, I'm not that eager to get the results. Lolx. If I did not fail badly, I will be glad.

Okie..Recently received a complaint through my blog's comment. That person said that I forget to mention her in my entry last sunday. Well..my apologies..Lolx...I really forgot. So I was mentioning that I was at URS taka buying shoes for dear's sis. I met my good dear old classmate Chunyan @ URS also. Chunyan was a nice lady I got to know during my lower sec days in BPSS. Together with Huiyue, Xiaohan and Tiangui, we used to hang out at AMK Macdonalds after school everyday. Those were the good old days! So we had a good chat outside URS, caught up on each others life and such. So..Chunyan, if your are reading this, be glad that I did not forget to mention you this time round and I had dedicated this nice little paragraph for you!..lolx..Take care ya my good old friend!

Was reading Kaijun's blog, realised that some bad stuff had befallen on her recently, though she has got no time to tell me what yet, hope she will tide over it fast. Take care ya!

Is financial security and stability important? I would say it would depends which phase of your life are you going though. So does going through all these years of education, bring us closer to financial security and stability? Probably..I'm skeptical about it. Anyway, attaining financial stability is just a passing phase of your life, that bring us to our ultimate goal of attaining financial freedom. So how do one attain such? Well..It has nothing gotta to do with how many degrees you've gotten, absolutely nothing to do with how hard you are at work and how much your boss like you. It is the dosage of financial education you had in your lifetime of learning that helps you achieve financial freedom.

So what is financial freedom? It is the ability to make your own money work for you to churn out a substantial and continous income after or even before retirement. Financial Education is the education you receive when you are handling and playing with your own money. It is something that no academic school teaches and something that even some if not most MBA holders know nuts about. Well, its a goal everyone is chasing, its also a goal that most of us fail to pass the finishing line.

What is more important, Love or cash? Would you give up love in search of cash or otherwise? Well..searching for cash in the legitimate sense no doubt. Sometimes its just so hard to decide. Well..here is a story to share:

Anthony Robbins is one of the best motivation speaker around the world. He is earning millions of dollars yearly just by giving talks globally. Before he got anywhere near fame and wealth, he was a toliet janitor for a particular company, he was so poor that in his house, he does not even have his own bed. He had a girlfriend though, and one day, he proposed to his gf, promising her gf that he will succeed one day and he will be the best. Her girlfriend, looking at his situation then and thought otherwise, so she did not agreed to the proposal and they broke off. Now Anthony Robbins is happily married with another girl, a girl he met while he was conducting a seminar, a gilr whom believed in him that he will be the best one day. I think his previous gf who rejected him, must be living in regrets now.

Well the above is a true story, not some cock and bull that I made up. So the moral of the story is, Love and Money has got no Corelations at all. Psychologically speaking, the corelations coefficent is ZERO! When you love a person, you will disregard of whether he is loaded or not.

Laterz!

It is unfair to blame genes or society for the status of women.

It is unfair to blame genes or society for the status of women. State and argue your stand.

There are many controversial views prevailing whether biological makeup or social conditioning has ultimate control over the status of women today. It has come to the acknowledgement to men and also some women themselves that they are being viewed as being the ?weaker? sex in this battle of the sexes which has been on going for decades or more but had led to no apparent conclusions. I would say that this occurring perception that women are comparatively the ?weaker? sex and their inability to excel in certain tasks are by and large the fault of the society with biological makeup being only a minute factor.

No doubt many would argue that sciences has given us results of studies and researches that the gender differences in men and women are the results of biological makeup. Testosterone, a hormone in the brain is main ideology behind the behaviors of the gender (Laura, 2000, p.4). On the contrary, did sciences tell us that women are the ?weaker? sex? Did sciences tell us that when women are less able to perform in certain area of work, that we should discriminate them in these fields? No, it did not.

Taking India for example, the women in India suffered discriminations from receiving less healthcare than men do, to mistreatment in women such that the fear of violence had dampened many aspirations amongst women(http://www.thp.org/reports/indiawom.htm). These ill conditions the women of India are facing are in no ways associated with their biological makeup. It is the perception of women in the society as the whole that contributes to these. These perceptions might had been due to traditional and cultural practices of the past and the failure of the people to see the need to modernize. ?A range of government programs have been launched to increase economic opportunity for women, although there appear to be no existing programs to address the cultural and traditional discrimination against women that leads to her abject conditions.?(http://www.thp.org/reports/indiawom.htm). The government is indeed trying to find a remedy to the problem but there can only be so much that can be done, society perceptions can hardly be changed overnight.

Nevid said that psychological studies often show the ?nature or nurture? debate that affects the behavior. Researches found out that monozygotic twins (twins with identical DNA), when separated at birth and brought up in different environment, would have different personality traits (2003, p.85). No doubt genetically similar make up would account for the similarity between twins would are brought up in the same environment, but it is often argued that it is also due to environmental conditioning that result in such. The tendency for parents to let twins wear the same type of clothes, do and play the same things is an example of environment conditioning in twins. Thus in today?s society, the status of women would be largely the effect of social conditioning, the result of an idea perceived that women must be of such inculcated to them at a young age.

Another aspect we can look into is the status of women in ancient China. Since the days of dynastic China, women have already been seen as being subservient to men. This is the kind of perception that the society sees women and that has been brought down to even today, women?s rights activist have been continuously fighting for the equality of the sexes but the environmental upbringing of some chauvinistic men would see otherwise to their cause.
We have looked at the different factors that attributed to the status of women today. Cultural, traditional and environmental factors are largely the cause to its effects in predetermining women as the ?weaker sex?. Thus, it can be concluded to a large extent that it is the fault of society that makes up the status of women today and the contribution of genes to this effect is negligible.

All the other brands only have Single, Queen and King. So thats my present my dear got for me this birthday, my Quilt and its cover. Psyc and Jap test results are gonna be release this Monday. I just can't wait to see how I fared in my 1st tests in University. As for Jap results, I can only pray hard that I scrape through with a pass. Everyone around is like telling me that the jap paper was easy, which of course, I beg to differ, probably its just me.

Just as mid term papers are just over, a few assignments are due soon. Well, soon enough, an essay due this monday, and the usual weekly jap vocab and grammar quiz on monday too. And my readings too! Guess I can only resume those next week. I think this essay is going to be a hard one and I shall write it later.lox. The topic is, "It is unfair to blame genes or society for the status of women. State and argue your stand." Its a question of the battle of the sexes. Will probably post my essay up when I'm done with it.lolx.

Well, there is yet another case of bloggers brushing against the law again last week. 5 JC girls who lamented negatively about their JC principal in their blog, which of course the name of the college wasn't published, were suspended from school for 3 days. The press interviewed this lawyer and he said that even if we do not name the particular person while we are cursing and swearing at him(in the blog), we could still be sued for defamation or slander, if the matter is being pursued by the subject matter. So I guess these 5 girls are lucky they just got away with a suspension of classes. Anyway, i doubt the principal would want to blow up the case by taking legal actions, as that would probably lead to an exposure of the college name and tarnishes its name.

Here is a funny incident, on friday, I was mugging in the school library with Joanne while waiting for our econs lecture, my econs textbook cited an example of a fictitious band called "Adam Smith and the Invisible hand" band to illustrate some theory. After reading it, I thought it was quite interesting, so I showed it to Joanne, and then she was like, "who is adam smith and the invisible hand?" Well, FYI, adam smith is the father of economics, he founded econs, and the invisible hand is one of his theories, and FYI again, Joanne was an Alevels economics student. LoLx. That was the ridiculous part, so the funny thing was, later in the econs lecture, the lecturer was talking about GDP and stuff(marco) and he mentioned Adam Smith and said that those who do not know who Adam Smith was by then, should stand up and leave the LT immediately. Hahax..So immediately I look at Joanne and we broke into laughter. Hahax!! Dumb Joanne! If she reads this, hopefully she doesn't sue me nor kill me! lolx!

Time for me to sleep. Had not been sleeping much these few days.

Later!
