Reminisces of 2005...
2005 is gone in the blink of an eye. Time really files. At the beginning of the year, I'm still counting down 6months to my ORD, grumbling about how time moved really slowly and I cannot wait to ORD.
1st June 2005, ORD loh!! Finally, the long awaited day arrived. The gleam in my eyes when I collected my Pink I/C from the clerk. Walked out of camp as a civilian, never to turn back again. Gone are my army days, just like that. 2 yrs 2 mths flew by without anyone noticing.
After chucking away the field pack that has followed me for 2yrs, I embarked on the next phase of my life. I'm back to school and my backpack comes in handy yet again after being retrenched 2 yrs back.
The desire to return to school is so strong, never in my life had I wanted so much to go back to school. Semester commenced. CORS screwed up, modules screwed up, timetable screwed up, and in the end so are the results. Screwed. Semester 1 is over. Strived so hard, fell even harder, nevertheless, I will pick myself up and try again. So now that I realize, school isn't so fun afterall, maybe my Army days are the best days, when there are no worries and stress, just passing each day as it comes along, billiards and beer in the mess day and night. Carefree.
Comes the holidays. 29th HOBTC. The course that brought my year of 2005 to a remarkable end. A course that made year 2005 a memorable one. The last course to be conducted at Training Command before they move to Home Team Academy in 2006. A course that found and kept many fond memories and made many new friends. Following that is Games day, Outdoor consultants Instrs training course, NPCC night. NPCC night, the 1st DnD hosted at HQ drill shed, it is going to be the last also.
For we always say, saving the best for last, year 2005 ended with the celebrations of dear's birthday. 31st Dec 1984, 21 yrs ago, an angel was born, and it was all fated that in 2002, I met this angel and fell in love with her. For she was my meant to be my guardian angel from that moment on, till now, till always. So on this special day, 21 years later, this angel turn into a fine wonderful lady still standing by me. Happy 21st Birthday my dear. I love you.
Let all the sweet and fond memories of 2005 be kept at the back of our hearts forever, let whatever unhappiness be left at 2005, and not bring it into the new year. As we step into the new year, with our new dreams and resolutions, I hereby wish one and all success in all endeavors and a very Happy New Year.
